Hengshui Machinery manufactures hydraulic cylinders for electric arc furnaces (EAF), induction furnaces, ladle refining furnaces (LRF), vacuum degassing units (VD/VOD), and submerged arc furnaces. Our electric furnace cylinders are engineered to operate reliably in environments of extreme radiated heat, thermal shock, electrical interference, and heavy contamination from slag spatter and metal dust.
EAF tilting cylinders, electrode arm lift cylinders, furnace roof lift cylinders, and tap-hole opening cylinders each present distinct engineering challenges. We select FKM or PTFE composite seals for high-temperature applications, apply special heat-reflective surface treatments where required, and can supply stainless steel rod versions for spatter-prone zones. All electric furnace cylinders are 100% pressure tested before despatch.

Large-bore, high-force cylinders for electric arc furnace tilting. Typically bore Ø200–Ø400 mm, stroke 500–1500 mm. FKM seals essential; radiated heat can exceed 500°C in the furnace bay.
Servo-controlled cylinders for electrode arm vertical positioning. High-cycle, precision stroke; often fitted with linear position transducers for closed-loop control.
Heavy-duty cylinders for EAF roof lift and swing mechanisms. Must support the full weight of the furnace roof structure under asymmetric loads.
High-force, short-stroke cylinders for mechanical tap-hole opening and closing. Exposed to severe heat and metal spatter.
Cylinders for channel and coreless induction furnace tilting. Bore typically Ø80–Ø250 mm. Lower temperature duty than EAF but still requires FKM seals.
Cylinders for ladle refining furnace and vacuum degassing vessel tilting. Requires precise position control for safe metal transfer.
High-clamping-force cylinders for electrode column clamps. Must maintain force under high-cycle conditions without seal leakage.
